As folks around the world tune in to see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl, a cuddly match-up will be underway on the same day. Just like the football game, viewers are engrossed with Animal Planet's 20th annual Puppy Bowl.
This year, the competition will see 130 rescue dogs play in a series of events to see who will win the Wayfair "Lombarky" trophy (akin to the Super Bowl's Vince Lombardi Trophy). Referee Dan Schachner will be overseeing the spectacle, and recently told ABC News that it's going to be the most memorable Puppy Bowl yet.
“What we’ve done this year to flip the whole script is because it’s sort of a celebration of the fact that it’s the 20th year,” he told the outlet. "We’ve decided to go all in on puppy, making it the “most puppiest ‘Puppy Bowl’ ever.”
And while it sure is entertaining to watch, the most important thing to note is the importance of adopting your fur baby, and, in fact, all the pups on Team Ruff and Team Fluff are available for adoption.

The 2024 Puppy Bowl is set to air on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. ET on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS and truTV.
For those who have a television readily accessible, you can watch the event on any of the channels as they air live.
