ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that Dallas Cowboys All-Pro guard Zack Martin may refuse to report to training camp over dissatisfaction with his contract.

If Martin refuses to show up to training camp he will be fined $50,000 per day under the NFL’s CBA.

Martin was recently selected by NFL personnel as one of the best offensive linemen in football and believes he should be compensated as such.

Over his nine-year career, Martin has earned eight Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections while also being selected to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

Martin is currently the ninth highest-paid guard in the NFL, with a salary of $14 million in 2023, according to Spotrac.

The highest-paid guard in the NFL for next season is Atlanta Falcon Chris Lindstrom who will earn $20.5 million.

Martin wishes to restructure his contract to be more in line with the highest-paid players at his position.

The Cowboys begin training camp on July 26 in Oxnard, Calif and had been focused on contract extensions for Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs and Terrance Steele. The Cowboys will now have to factor in Martin’s contract as well.
