Formula 1 - Italian Grand Prix
Sunday, September 11th - 9:00 a.m. ET - ESPN2

Monza is a very unique place, which makes the Italian Grand Prix a particularly unique race. The track is almost an oval with chicanes in it, rewarding a very different balance of power, aerodynamics, and skill than the rest of the Formula 1 schedule. This weekend, that has been good news for hometown favorites Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc will start the high-powered Ferrari from pole tomorrow, beating out Max Verstappen by just over a tenth of a second. Leclerc shares the rare-for-the-weekend distinction of actually holding onto that starting position tomorrow, ahead of a race where a substantial portion of the field has chosen to take grid penalties for engine and other component changes. Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr., and Lewis Hamilton are all among those taking penalties this weekend.

NASCAR - Kansas Speedway
Sunday, September 11th - 3:00 p.m. ET - USA

After a race at the beloved Darlington Speedway last weekend, the first round of the NASCAR playoffs continues at Kansas, perhaps NASCAR's least exciting track. With so little separation among the playoff field this season, the focus for most playoff competitors will be on gathering stage points and finishing this race in the top 20. This round is about avoiding elimination, not heroics, and there is no better way to get eliminated early than to take a major risk and fail to finish one of these three events.

IndyCar - Laguna Seca
Sunday, September 11th - 2:40 p.m. ET - NBC

The first major champion of the season will be crowned tomorrow when the IndyCar series wraps up its championship at Laguna Seca. Unfortunately for the person in charge of engraving the trophies, any one of five drivers is still mathematically eligible to win the championship. Will Power holds a narrow lead of 20 points over both Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden, while Marcus Ericsson and Scott McLaughlin remain within distant reach of the title at 39 and 41 points back, respectively. A title would be the first for Ericsson and McLaughlin, the second for Power, and one of many for eternal series powers Dixon and Newgarden.
