Where to vote early in Allegan and Ottawa counties

Michigan voters, for the first time, will enjoy nine days of early voting for the presidential primary. The expanded voting option will be a staple for any election with federal or state items, following the passage of Proposal 2 in 2022.

Early voting will begin Saturday, Feb. 17, and run through Sunday, Feb. 25. No voting will take place Monday, Feb. 26. Those who don’t vote early or absentee can vote at their normal precincts on election day, Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Early voting, however, often won't take place at voters' regular precincts. Here's a guide on where to vote, if you plan to get a headstart:

All municipalities in Ottawa County have partnered to implement early voting.

There will be four sites across the county, each open to all registered voters, all nine days.

Those locations are Polkton Township Hall, 6900 Arthur St. in Coopersville; Georgetown Township Hall, 1515 Baldwin St. in Jenison; MDHHS Building — Macatawa Room, 12185 James St. in Holland; and Grand Haven Township Hall, 13300 168th Ave. in Grand Haven.

Early voting is available 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday, the sites will be open 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Fennville

The city of Fennville has entered an agreement with Clyde Township, Ganges Township, Lee Township and Manlius Township. Voters in each of the five areas will be able to vote early at Fennville City Hall, 125 S. Maple St. from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Saugatuck

The city of Saugatuck and Saugatuck Township are partnering for early voting, with the township serving as host. Voting will be available from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Saugatuck Township Hall, 3461 Blue Star Highway.

Hopkins

Hopkins Township and Monterey Township voters can vote early at 128 Franklin St. in Hopkins. Voting hours will be 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
