Here’s where you can save at the pump as gas prices see a hopeful decrease in WA state

Washington state gas prices are seeing a hopeful drop, decreasing in November although some counties are still stuck with prices above $5 a gallon.

The United States gas price average has decreased in the last month, now averaging $3.76 a gallon instead of $3.79 in October, according to the American Automobile Association.

Washington’s state average is now $4.89 a gallon, a 40-cent decrease since October. In November 2021, gas averaged $3.87 a gallon in Washington state, according to AAA.

Beginning in mid-June, Washington’s average gas prices declined from high prices, until taking a turn for the worst near the end of September. Between Sept. 20 and Oct. 9, average gas prices increased by 78 cents per gallon.

On Oct. 11, Washington’s average gas prices began to drop, decreasing by 50 cents between Oct. 11 and Nov. 2.

Although the decrease in the average price of gas in Washington state is encouraging to many, the cost of gas still varies by county.

The county in Washington state with the highest price of gas is Pacific County, with an average of $5.23 per gallon. Meanwhile, Pend Oreille County, in the top northeast corner of the state, has the lowest gas price average at $4.47 a gallon, decreasing from $4.64 a gallon last month.

Washington state also has the fifth-highest gas prices in the country after California, Hawaii, Nevada and Oregon. California has the highest gas in the country, averaging $5.51 a gallon, according to AAA.
