Where to park for this weekend’s Independence Day celebrations in North Texas

The Fourth of July weekend will bring fun for the whole family at events around North Texas.

Most of this weekend’s events are free, but a few are ticketed celebrations. However, parking will cost you. Here is a guide to the Independence Day celebrations in North Texas and how to get there:

Fort Worth

The 15th annual Fort Worth’s Fourth will take over Panther Island Pavilion on July 4.

Festival food, drinks, kids activities and live music will keep the crowd entertained before the fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. There’s free admission to the show that runs from 5 to 10 p.m. at 395 Purcey St., Fort Worth.

  • Parking lot: The main Panther Island Pavilion parking lot at 395 Purcey St. costs $20 per vehicle.

  • Parking lot: 208 W. Weatherford St. costs $10 from noon to 6 a.m. and is about a 12 minute walk to the venue.

  • Parking lot: 715 W. Belknap St. costs $10 for 1-2 hours, $11 for 2-3 hours and $12 for anything beyond three hours. It’s about an eight minute walk to the venue.

  • Bus: Trinity Metro route 46 runs next to the event and the stop at Henderson and Peach is the closest drop-off to the venue.

  • Bike parking: The North Forrest Park Boulevard Trinity Trails route travels right next to the Panther Island Pavilion. The venue will have bike racks located under the Henderson bridge.

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will play two concerts to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Tickets vary on seating and can be purchased on the orchestra’s website. Both shows start at 8:30 p.m. on July 3 and July 4 at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. All parking can be purchased in advance online.

  • North parking lot: The lot near University Drive and Trails Drive costs $18.

  • South parking lot: The lot near West Freeway and Montgomery Street costs $18.

  • Valet parking: Is near the south parking lot and costs $35.

Arlington

Light Up Arlington will brighten the downtown sky from 6 to 10:30 p.m. on July 3.

Residents can expect vendors, food trucks and live music across four different stages at the event. The fireworks display, which will blast off from the roof of City Tower, lasts about 20 minutes and starts at 9:50 p.m.

  • Downtown parking: Several free public parking lots will be available to residents around the downtown area.

  • Parking notices: Access to the 101 Center Parking Garage and parking spots around the building will be prohibited from 6 to 11 p.m. on July 3. The City Tower parking lot will be closed from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Any vehicles in the City Tower lot after 5 p.m. will be towed to the northeast corner of the lot. The City Hall parking lot at Pecan and Abram Streets will be closed on July 3, vehicles must be removed by 2 p.m. that day.

  • VIA Rideshare: Arlington’s VIA rideshare is available citywide and costs $3 (0-1.5 miles), $3.50 (1.5-3 miles), $4 (3-4.5 miles), $4.50 (4.5-6 miles) and $6 (6 miles plus). Rides can be ordered on the VIA app.

Eagle Mountain Lake

The Fort Worth Boat Club and Lakeview Marina are putting on the annual fireworks show at Eagle Mountain Lake from 9 to 10:30 p.m. on July 4.

This fireworks show is only accessible via water or public areas surrounding the lake and people cannot walk to the boat club or marina. The fireworks will launch in the northern section of the lake. Here are a few access points to the lake, from Texas Parks and Wildlife.

  • West Bay Marina: From Jacksboro Highway take FM 730 north to Timber Road and turn right. Turn north on Liberty School Road and follow to marina.

  • Lakeview Marina: From Jacksboro Highway take Boat Club Road north to Peden road. Turn west and follow road to marina.

  • Creek Harbor Camp: From FM 1220 take Indian Creek west to ramp.

  • Shady Grove Park: From FM 730 just north of Azle, go east on Stribling Drive.

  • Pelican Bay Ramp: From FM 730 north of Azle go east on Sandy Beach, then south on Liberty School Road and south on Pelican.

North Richland Hills

The Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce is hosting this year’s Family 4th Fireworks Show in North Richland Hills.

Admission is free for the event from 9:30-10:30 p.m. on July 4 at 6351 26 Blvd., Haltom City.

  • Birdville ISD plaza: Free parking is available on a first come first serve basis at 6351 26 Blvd.

  • Wiley G. Thomas Coliseum: Free parking is available on a first come first serve basis at 6108 Broadway Ave.

Mansfield

The Mansfield Rocks event will take place at Big League Dreams and Hawaiian Falls water park at 6 p.m. on July 3 at 500 Heritage Parkway.

Tickets cost $20 and cover admission and parking.
