For countless women, motherhood demands decades of sacrifice, on-the-fly problem solving and no shortage of headaches. Fortunately, life has a way of reminding moms why it's all worth it — a big brunch, for example.

Big Lug Canteen and The Roost Nora

Sahm's Hospitality Group's sister restaurants in Nora will ditch their usual menus for a Mother's Day buffet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Quiche, eggs Benedict and waffles join fried chicken and meatloaf on an expansive menu. Bottleworks Hotel

Bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys kick off a Mother's Day brunch featuring a choice of salad, an assortment of fruit, a seafood tower, a prime rib carving station, omelet station, chicken and waffles, a smattering of high-end sides and a dessert table. Two-hour reservations can be made between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and cost $125 per person. You can purchase tickets online.

The Garrison at Fort Harrison State Park

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Garrison will have breakfast options (including frittatas, quiche Lorraine, omelet station and waffle station), lunch (fried chicken, mashed potatoes), a carving station with three different meats and a dessert bar. Adults dine for $50 and children 3-10 for $18. Soft drinks, coffee and tea are included. Reservations must be made by phone.

The Nesst of Noblesville

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Nesst will roll out a brunch buffet with breakfast staples like scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy. For those who prefer to skip straight to lunch, the buffet also includes prime rib, chicken in a creamy garlic sauce, baked cod, mashed potatoes and chicken wings, plus an assortment of desserts. Pier 48 Fish House and Oyster Bar

Pier 48 will offer a special menu featuring lobster bisque ($8 for a cup, $10 for a bowl), crab-crusted salmon with mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, bell peppers and Dijon mustard ($32), chicken cacciatore with fettucine in a red wine marinara sauce ($24) and a French chocolate custard ($10). Wine, cocktails and champagne are also available. Reservations can be made by phone or online.

Rosie's Place

Specials are available all weekend while supplies last.

Santorini Greek Kitchen Catering

For the moms seeking a Mediterranean flair, Santorini will serve its "world famous" Greek buffet from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Highlights on the extensive menu include Greek salad, spanakopita, chicken souvlaki and a Greek custard cake called galaktoboureko. Adults 21 and over eat for $50, ages 65 and over for $30, ages 13-20 for $35 and children 6-12 for $20. Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase separately. A decades-old Indianapolis staple, Café Patachou brings a modern, slightly ritzy flair to your traditional greasy spoon fare. With seven locations in Marion, Boone and Hamilton County, you and your mother likely aren't very far from a plate of thick-cut cinnamon toast or ricotta scrambled eggs.

Conner's Kitchen and Bar

You'll find a mix of familiar staples and creative twists at this downtown eatery, where crispy bacon and avocado toast join loaded breakfast nachos and lemon buttermilk pancakes. Brunch is served from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

The St. Joseph neighborhood bar and eatery will offer its usual Sunday brunch menu on Mother's Day, including build-your-own omelets ($12), chicken and waffles ($12) and other breakfast staples alongside several different drinks.

Foundry Provisions

The all day breakfast sandwich, with Amelia's brioche bun, herbed eggs, cheddar and provolone cheese and added avocado and bacon, is one item served at Foundry Provisions, seen on Friday, September 18, 2020, in the Old Northside neighborhood of Indianapolis. Recent changes to the coffee shop and cafe include new kitchen equipment for faster food preparation, ingredient upgrades, interior renovations and the menu now includes ice cream.

This Herron-Morton neighborhood coffee shop does made-to-order grilled sandwiches using local products and has a grab-and-go case for those on the run.

Its standout breakfast sandwich, a toasted herbed scrambled egg, cheddar and provolone on brioche, is available all day. Also, there's ice cream.

The menu varies slightly between Gallery's three locations, together offering high-end options for lunch, dinner and, of course, brunch. The original Gallery Pastry Shop (4573 N. College Ave.) and Gallery Pastry Bar (110 S. Pennsylvania St.) in the Wholesale District offer salads and fine dining entrées alongside upscale breakfast classics. Gallery on 16th (319 E. 16th St.) in Old Northside majors in brunch, serving everything from steak and eggs to oversized soufflé-inspired lemon pancakes.

Those who favor a more dressed-down outing will fit right in at Lincoln Square, where it doesn't get much fancier than eggs Benedict. Pancakes are the headliner, but you'll also find just about every form of egg, fried biscuits and many melty sandwiches.

Adventurous eaters are welcome at this Fletcher Place brunch spot, which boasts dishes like sweet potato latkes, carrot cake waffles and oysters. The drink selection is robust, whether you're in for a single glass of sparkling wine or a beermosa — which is exactly what it sounds like — pitcher for the table.

The Oakmont

Fried deviled eggs, carne asada omelets, breakfast nachos and roasted poblano biscuits comprise a glimpse of The Oakmont's expansive, experimental brunch menu. The extravagance continues to the cocktail menu, flush with spicy margaritas, basil-infused vodka and a pineapple rum drink boosted with Pedialyte and vitamin C, aptly dubbed The Rehab.

Wild Eggs

Upscale twists on classic staples adorn the menu at this Louisville, Kentucky-based chain. Bruschetta-topped and balsamic-glazed avocado toast joins shrimp étouffée and grits, a chicken cordon bleu skillet and a bourbon latte to wash it down.
