During the Republican National Convention, Donald Trump’s oldest granddaughter, Kai Trump, became the first of his grandchildren to talk about what it’s like to have one of the most famous people in the world as a grandfather.
In her speech, Kai Trump mostly focused on the side of Trump that no one sees, calling him a “normal grandpa.”
And while Kai Trump’s life seems to be as close-to-normal as possible for the grandchild of one of the most famous public figures in the world, she does go to a fairly elite school in South Florida. Kai isn’t the only kid at her school with a famous relative, though.

Kai Madison Trump is the oldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and former model Vanessa Kay Trump, formerly Vanessa Kay Pergolizzi.
She is the oldest of Donald Trump’s 10 grandchildren and the oldest child of Donald Trump Jr.’s five children. She celebrated her 17th birthday May 12, 2024.
She shares her grandfather’s love of golf. She plays competitively and earlier this year, won a ladies' club championship at Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Her Instagram page is mostly golf content, down to her username, which is @kaitrumpgolfer.
"Golf has always been a massive part of my life and is my biggest passion. I always aspire to be a leader and a positive figure on and off the golf course. I hope to continue my athletic career at the college level," Kai's SportsRecruits biography says. Kai will graduate in 2026.
Where does Kai Trump go to school?
Kai Trump was born and mostly raised in New York, but now lives in Jupiter with her mother.
According to Kai's SportsRecruits profile, she moved to South Florida about four years ago, when she was 13 years old. Kai currently plays golf and studies at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach.

What famous kids go to The Benjamin School in Florida?
Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods’ son, also attends and plays golf at The Benjamin School and helped their varsity golf team win a state title when he was a freshman last year.
Other famous golfers have also sent their children to The Benjamin School, including Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman.

What is the tuition at The Benjamin School in Florida?
According to the school’s website, one year of tuition for 9th through 12th grade is $37,200 for the 2024-25 school year.
Who is the founder of The Benjamin School?
The founders of The Benjamin School, Marshall and Nancy Benjamin, were a Michigan couple (both teachers) who moved to South Florida in the 1950s.
Shortly after moving to Florida, they opened up a private school near Palm Beach International Airport, which filled with students within two years of opening, according to Nancy Benjamin’s obituary.
“After a two-year stint traveling and teaching on a military base in Africa, the couple returned to Palm Beach County in 1956. They taught in the public school system,” The Palm Beach Post’s obituary says.
“The two teachers from Royal Oak, Mich., bought a parcel of land in 1960 with two old houses that became North Palm Beach Private School for pre-K students to sixth grade.”
That private school then became The Benjamin School. The school probably attracts golfers because of its location – just under a 20-minute car ride away from Jupiter, where many famous golfers live.
