Here’s where and when you can celebrate Independence Day in Middle Georgia

July 4 is only a few days away, Independence Day celebrations are scheduled across Georgia, including one in Jones County that starts tomorrow evening.

Here’s where and when you can celebrate U.S. independence in Middle Georgia.

Jones County

Gray is celebrating early with the Independence Day Extravaganza June 29. The Morris Bank Recreation Complex event starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

Families can enjoy food trucks, music, and the annual firework show.

Monroe County

Join downtown Forsyth as they “Light Up the Sky” and savor meals from local food trucks, watch fireworks and have fun. The night will start with a concert by Atlanta’s Ty Reynolds Band at 7:30 p.m. The stage and viewing area for the concert is located in the field across from the city hall.

A firework show will follow at 9:30 p.m. Guests should take note of all available parking at the Monroe County Fine Arts Center and around the square. No parking will be allowed in the field where the concert will take place or the firework shooting area. More available details should be directed to the Forsyth Main Street website.

Houston County

An event worth the drive is the 40th Annual Independence Day Celebration in Warner Robins. The event will be held on July 1 at the McConnell Talbert Stadium parking lot starting at 5 pm. Times are subject to change. The event is free to the public. Talents such as Scott Stapp and Jefferson Starship are scheduled to perform.

Food and beverage vendors will be available to the public. For anyone who wants to give back, the event is looking for volunteers. The Visit Warner Robins website can provide further information.

Perry will hold an Independence Day celebration on July 2 in Historic Downtown Perry. The event is scheduled for 5 p,m, and ends at 9 p,m. Patrons can view the Stars and Stripes community parade while enjoying live music and food trucks.

Bibb County

Residents can travel to Lake Tobesofkee to celebrate the 27th Annual Sparks Over the Park Independence Day Celebration. The event will be held on July 4 at Claystone, Sandy Beach, and Arrowhead Parks. Festivities will start at 8 a.m. and end at 8 p.m.

Admission to the event is only $3.00, and children six and under are free. Families can enjoy a nice day of swimming, picnics, live music, and more.

The fireworks show will start promptly at 9:15 p.m. According to the event details, the best view would be from Sandy Beach. In the spirit of a safe holiday, no alcohol or glass containers are allowed in the park.

Be sure to catch the July Fourth Parade on Riverdale on July 4. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at noon. The bandwagon leaves at 10 a.m.

Music, watermelon, and peanuts will follow with the fun. Participants are encouraged to decorate their homes, bikes, and put on your best outfits for prizes.

After its start on Riverdale, the parade will lead down Overlook, Belvedere, pass through Ridge, then Albermarle, and back to Riverdale. Due to the celebration, Riverdale Drive will be shut down.
