When is Walmart+ Week 2024? Here's all you need to know about the big summer savings event

We've got big plans this summer and it has nothing to do with our vacation. Each year, retailers kick off summer with super savings events and this year, the fun is starting even earlier than last year. Walmart announced its annual Walmart+ Week will last a full seven days, running from Monday, June 17 through Sunday, June 23. It will give Walmart+ members deals on name brands, free delivery, and discounts on gas, travel, and more. The earlier-than-usual sale places Walmart's event weeks ahead of other retail giants. Yes, we are talking about Amazon's Prime Day event. While we don't know the dates just yet, we can expect that major event sometime in July. As a departure from previous years, the two mega-sale events won't overlap. That's why we're saying, we've got big summer plans.

The major catch for this event is that you need to be a Walmart+ member in order to reap all the benefits. You can benefit from an annual membership all year long, but it will be the only way to take full advantage of Walmart+ Week 2024.

Answer: Walmart+ Week 2024 is similar to Amazon's Prime Day. The event will drop prices on major brands and bestselling products exclusively for Walmart+ members. exclusive deals and discounts on a wide range of products across all categories, including electronics, home goods, groceries, and more.

This year, there are additional discounts on gas at both Exxon and Mobil, plus up to 20% back in Walmart Cash you book through Walmart+ Travel.

  • Double discounts on gas — 20 cents off every gallon

  • Up to 20% back in Walmart Cash when booking through Walmart+ Travel

  • One complimentary Express Delivery with your order delivered right to you, no fee

  • Three free months of Walmart+ InHome, a service that has items from your local store dropped off inside your home or garage by trusted and trained Walmart associates

  • Exclusive access to new and unique items

Answer: Walmart+ Week will last seven days, from Monday, June 17, through Sunday, June 23. Typically taking place in July, this year, the sales event will not compete directly with other early July shopping events, like Amazon Prime Day.

Answer: You'll need to be a Walmart+ member to take advantage of all the deals, discounts, and perks of Walmart+ Week. You can sign up to become a member right on the website, which includes a free 30-day trial for new members. So you can sign up now and enjoy all the perks in time for the sale. Once you're a member, you'll have full access to all the exclusive deals during the promotional period.

Answer: An annual Walmart+ membership offers several benefits that last throughout the year, but there will be more advantages as part of Walmart+ Week 2024. Here's what's typical:

  • Free delivery on groceries and other items (with a minimum order amount).

  • Free shipping with no order minimum on Walmart.com.

  • Discounts on fuel at participating gas stations.

  • Access to Walmart+ Travel for assistance in booking trips and vacations

  • Access to exclusive deals and promotions during events like Walmart+ Week.

Answer: Generally, no. The Walmart+ Week deals are exclusive to Walmart+ members, but Walmart always rolls back prices. There will likely still be sale items during the period, but the real savings will be reserved for Walmart+ members.

Answer: There's an incredibly wide range on sale, including name brands and bestselling products. Some areas we expect to see deep discounts include:

  • Electronics & Tech — TVs, laptops, and smartphones

  • Home Appliances & Decor — Vacuum cleaners, kitchen gadgets, air fryers, furniture

  • Groceries and household essentials — Cleaning gadgets, paper towels, cleansers

  • Apparel and Accessories — Clothing, sunglasses, handbags, outerwear

  • Outdoor and sporting goods — Patio furniture, backyard items, basketball hoops

  • Toys and games — Splash pads, ride-on toys, video games

A few things to note about multi-day deal events like this: sales only last as long as the products do, so don't hesitate when it comes to purchasing. A few things to watch out for:

  • Limited stock on popular items, leading to quick sellouts

  • Limited-time deals with very specific time frames

  • A purchase limit on the quantity a single shopper can buy

Answer: As we always do, we offer many pro tips on how to make the most of the big online shopping events, but here are a few of our top suggestions:

  • Make a list

  • Shop early deals

  • Sign up for invite-only lists

  • Price match at other retailers

  • Make sure you're already a member

Answer: It's hard to say overall whether the deals will be equivalent to what we see during the Black Friday shopping event, but Walmart+ Week is certainly comparable to other major sales events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We've seen items hit the lowest prices of the year during these summer shopping events and here at AOL that is exactly what we're looking for. We'll be sure to call out all-time-low prices and the best deals we find.

The major differentiator between Black Friday deals and this Walmart+ Week is the need for a membership. Typically, Black Friday deals are available to all customers.

We've still got a few weeks before Walmart+ Week deals go live, but there are still tons of steals on brands and products you love. Check out some of the sales available ahead of Walmart+ Week.
