What's Your Fancy: Jesse Marlo Lazowski's Everyday Essentials are Rooted in a Global Perspective

Take a look at any piece of Marlo Laz jewelry and you'll see it: hints of the world embued in each collection of rings, necklaces, bracelets, and beyond.

"I like to say that Marlo Jaz takes its collectors beyond borders," Jesse Marlo Lazowski tells T&C, "as each piece and collection is created based on places I have experienced." Some of those places include Switzerland and France—and some 40 other countries. According to Lazowski, her aesthetic is "completely global," and she uses design elements in her home and stores from Italy, Japan, France, India, and even Morocco. Her personal art collection features works from Brazil, Germany, Mexico, France, South Korea, and more. So when it came to her latest collection, "Moonstruck," it was only inevitable that the theme of international delight would carry over.

Her first foray into high jewelry, "Moonstruck," began when she set out to make pieces for herself, her sister, and her mother-in-law for Lazowski's brother's wedding. "I have wanted to make a collection of more significant, large-scale pieces for a while, and was waiting for the right moment and inspiration," she says. "The Lake Como setting really lent itself to pieces of this caliber. Once I got started, the collection took a life of its own and I was able to make many of the pieces of my dreams." Among them are the Venus Necklace and Earrings and the Mozambique ruby Celine Necklace.

But, not only are Lazowski's aesthetic choices inspired by the world. Her everyday essentials, too, have a touch of the kaleidoscope of places she's visited and loved. Here, Lazowksi shares her seven everyday essentials.
