The West Texas High School Football Stadium Survey: Looking at the venues in West Texas

The 2023-24 high school sports season is waning with the only remaining sports being played on the softball and baseball diamonds. As the Standard-Times looks forward to the 2024-25 high school football calendar, we want to hear what the community has to say about the West Texas football stadiums.

West Texas has a unique high school sports atmosphere. From the large 6A schools in the Little Southwest Conference to the small Class 1A six-man football venues, there is a wide variety of flavors for all football fans to enjoy. With the recent shuffling of high school sports districts because of the 2024-26 UIL Realignment, we hope the West Texas High School Stadium Surveys can give the members of our community some insight into each stadium.

Since there are over 40 stadiums in West Texas, we split the West Texas Stadium Surveys into three separate polls — The 6A-3A Survey, the 2A Survey and the 1A Survey. Each survey will require three things — The school/team the respondent roots for, their city of residence and their favorite West Texas stadium. Other than the three required questions, respondents are free to answer as many questions and complete as many surveys as they like.

Community members are encouraged to fill out as many questionnaires as possible, so we can get the most accurate and diverse number of votes as possible.

Each stadium has 10 categories the respondents can rank on a scale of one to five: Quality of seating, cleanliness of restrooms, availability and variety of food and beverages, interaction with staff, adequacy of security members, atmosphere, accessibility for people with disabilities, availability of parking spaces, likelihood of attending future games and overall satisfaction. Additionally, there is a space after each stadium question for additional suggestions or other comments. Please be aware that any comments submitted may be used in future articles.

The surveys will be available for submissions until June 3.
