GAYLORD — Another week, another long list of noteworthy performances from Otsego County athletes.
Catch up with the top performers from last week from Gaylord, Gaylord St. Mary and Johannesburg-Lewiston sports:
SOFTBALL
Braleigh Miller, Gaylord
Another week, another four wins for Gaylord softball as the defending Divison 2 state champions wrapped its home schedule with sweeps of Petoskey and Midland Dow, securing another Big North Conference title while preparing itself for another postseason run.
Senior Braleigh Miller made her last games on the GHS Softball Field count; she had not just one, but two hits in all four wins, finishing the week 8-for-14 from the plate with five runs batted in and seven runs scored.

College: Gaylord softball alum Alexis Kozlowski earns list of accolades in first year at Ferris
Jayden Marlatt, Johannesburg-Lewiston
Fresh off clinching the team's fourth-straight Ski Valley Conference title, JoBurg softball continues to roll through its regular season schedule, sweeping East Jordan on Wednesday, May 22 for wins 25 and 26. Again, senior Jayden Marlatt was in the center of the action, earning her 14th win in the circle in game one with yet another shutout while striking out 13 batters.
She was also 3-for-5 from the plate with a triple, four RBI and six runs scored throughout the two mercy-shortened victories.
Reagan Sides, Johannesburg-Lewiston
Senior Reagan Sides also had back-to-back big games at the plate in the two-game sweep of East Jordan, going 5-for-6 with two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored.
BASEBALL
Ty Bensinger, Gaylord
Wrapping up its regular season schedule on Thursday, May 24, Gaylord baseball split a doubleheader with Rudyard, winning game one thanks to a walk-off hit from senior Ty Bensinger.
GOLF
Luke Sommerville, Gaylord
GHS wrapped up the regular season golf schedule at the Big North Championships on Wednesday, May 22, with junior Luke Sommerville earning All-Conference honors after finishing the year with a yearly average score of 82.0 strokes.
TRACK AND FIELD
Miriam Murrell, Gaylord St. Mary
Continuing to add to her collection of accolades before officially moving on to Oakland University next year, senior Miriam Murrell won the Ski Valley Conference Championship in both the 800-meter (2 minutes, 35.42 seconds) and 1600-meter races (5:36.15), setting up her final high school races at the Division 4 state finals on Saturday, June 1.
Johannesburg-Lewiston boys track and field
The JoBurg boys track and field team captured the SVC conference title after winning five individual events, with Jeremiah Witt winning the 800-meter (2:12.49) and 1600-meter (5:14.11), Blake Fox winning the 400-meter (51.75), Malaki Gascho won the 3200-meter (11:16.57) and Nate Hummel winning the Pole Vault (9 feet, 6 inches).
