A rodeo dating back to the 60s

Wellsville Frontier Days dates back to 1961 when six local families organized a play day in a meadow that rotated from house to house for the first few years.

Their intention was to revive and experience western frontier recreation, and as the tradition grew, the play day turned into a rodeo, held on the Wellsville Fire Company grounds.

Eight years later, Wellsville Frontier Days purchased a several acre home and added improvements, including a clubhouse with kitchen, an arena, a warm-up arena and bleachers.

Now, the space holds two rodeos annually and is also home for the Wellsville Boots and Saddle 4-H Club.

The Central Pennsylvania Youth Rodeo Association holds several events on the grounds throughout their rodeo season and a speed horse show, a youth show, and a 4-H benefit horse show are also on the schedule. For more events and information, go to www.wellsvillefrontierdaysinc.com.
