Wellspring Lutheran Services employee in Monroe earns caregiver award

MONROE — Shelby Carroll, an employee at Wellspring Lutheran Services, is the most recent monthly recipient of the Marilyn S. Merkle Community Caregiver Award.

Rebecca Miller and her family nominated Carroll.

“Our mom, Theresa Miller, is 98 years old and is a five-year resident at Wellspring Lutheran Home," Miller wrote in the nomination. "Shelby always goes above and beyond in her resident care. Mom wears hearing aids in both ears and her right ear is her good ear. Shelby always takes the time to speak with mom so mom fully understands and is aware of what is going on. Shelby is patient and caring to all residents she aids. Shelby is an asset to Wellspring, and her kindness, knowledge and loving care is appreciated by both residents and family."
