After all, you can only gather some insight into a celebrity's taste and preferences from their home's architecture and interior design. It's the collections they keep in their homes that truly reveal the most about them. Emma Roberts collects dolls and displays them on shelving near the office area of her Los Angeles home. In a recent video tour with Architectural Digest, she gets extremely excited to show off her dolls. Her favorites include “leggy Jill,” “drunk cowgirl Barbie,” and Blythe. “I’m madly obsessed with them—in love with them,” she said.

She even went as far as to say that she hopes the dolls come to life. “I hope that every night—that they’ll come wake me up,” she said. “It would be so thrilling.”

Amanda Seyfried loves dead animals. The Mamma Mia! star has an extensive taxidermy collection, and they all have names. There’s an owl named Beatrix, a chick named Linda, and a mini zebra named Kevin Sparkle. She’s sourced many of them from the taxidermy store Deyrolle in Paris, while others have been gifts from her fellow celebs including Seth MacFarlane, who gave her the zebra, and Conan O’Brien, who gave her a raccoon.

His former interior designer said the display was tasteful and she believed DiCaprio's mother had been the one to decorate the Malibu mansion with all the film-inspired merchandise. More recently, he reportedly has a priceless collection of original Star Wars toys and goes undercover to bid for them online. His collection also includes superhero figures, robots, and toys.

Martha Stewart has collected baskets for so long that she built a shed on her Bedford, New York, estate dedicated to housing them. Known as the Basket House, it’s filled with hundreds of antique, vintage, and contemporary baskets in “pine, straw, willow, various grasses, threads, and fine wooden splints,” according to her blog.

In the past, Stewart has displayed her baskets in creative ways. She hung many of them on the kitchen ceiling in her farmhouse in Connecticut circa 1982. The basket ceiling look has certainly made a comeback in recent years, and we’re here for it.

Tom Hanks’s wholesome obsession is with typewriters, which he started collecting when he was 19 years old. At one point, he owned hundreds of them. "They're brilliant combinations of art and engineering," Hanks told The New York Times in 2019. "Every time you type something on a typewriter, it is a one-of-a-kind work of art."

Hanks said he planned to cut down his collection to one specific model at the time. In 2023, he reportedly started sending them to typewriter shops unprompted. It’s unclear how many he currently owns. In any case, his mark on the typewriting world will live on, He wrote a 2017 book of short stories, each mentioning typewriters, and has been featured in a documentary about typewriters called California Typewriter.
