Ready to crack a case? BookTok sensation A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is headed to the small screen and a familiar face is stepping into the lead role. According to Deadline, Emma Myers (who’s best known as Wednesday Addams’ werewolf bestie Enid Sinclair in Netflix’s Wednesday) will star as Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi in the TV adaptation.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is book one in a trilogy series by British author Holly Jackson. The YA mystery novel has sold millions of copies worldwide since its release in 2019, and the series, which includes its sequels Good Girl, Bad Blood and As Good As Dead, has garnered over 40 million views on TikTok.

The series follows Pip Fitz-Amobi and her investigation into a murder-suicide that happened five years earlier, involving a popular senior in her high school and her boyfriend. “Smart and single minded, [Pip] isn’t sure about whether, five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh,” the series description reads, per Deadline. “But if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?”

Who has been cast in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder?

Emma Myers will star as Pip, and newcomer Zain Iqbal will play Ravi, Sal Singh’s brother. Author Holly Jackson made the announcement on Instagram on June 19, and this casting couldn’t be more perfect.

“From the moment we announced that A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder was coming to the BBC I know there’s been a huge amount of speculation from fans about who will play Pip and Ravi,” Fiona Campbell, Controller of Youth Audience, BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, said in a statement per Deadline. “In Emma and Zain we’ve found two actors who embody the characters so perfectly it will feel as though they’ve stepped straight from the pages of Holly’s books on to our screens.”
