Wawa is giving away free coffee — for one day only. Here’s when and how to get it
Wawa is celebrating its 60th anniversary with free cups of coffee.
On April 16, customers can get a free hot coffee of any size at more than 1,000 Wawa locations nationwide, according to the Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain.
The offer is available all day and no purchase is necessary.
“Customers can simply come into their local store and grab their favorite hot beverage from Wawa’s self-serve coffee bar with our heartfelt thanks for being loyal customers,” the company said in a news release.
Wawa opened its first store in 1964 and amassed a cult following over the years with its made-to-order hoagies and fresh coffee, according to its website.
The convenience store chain said it expects to hand out nearly 1.5 million cups of coffee to celebrate its latest milestone.
The all-day celebration will feature other activities including “day brightener” recognition for select customers, 60-cent birthday cake doughnuts and $1 million gift card giveaway to Wawa’s charitable partners, the release said.
The brand also said it will share its plans for future expansion.
In February, Wawa announced plans to break ground on its first store in Georgia, with plans to build at least three more over the next few years, McClatchy News reported.
The convenience store brand also has plans to open its first stores in North Carolina and Alabama in 2024, according to its website.
