WaterFire announces 2024 schedule: 8 events May 11 to Nov. 2

PROVIDENCE – WaterFire, the popular festival featuring blazing wood fires in floating braziers in the rivers of downtown Providence, has announced its 2024 season, starting with a May 11 partial lighting and a June 1 full lighting.

As currently scheduled, the season runs through a Nov. 2 full lighting. In total, the season includes two partial lightings and six full lightings. The schedule could be expanded if organizers secure additional sponsors. A partial lighting had been scheduled for Thursday evening to announce the schedule but it was rained out.

Each event begins at sunset. Partial lightings include a reduced number of braziers and cover a smaller area of the rivers.
