Watchdog Wednesday: Manitowoc Public Schools Superintendent proposes another restructuring

MANITOWOC — Manitowoc Public School District Superintendent James Feil presented a plan to the Board of Education April 23 to again restructure the central office staff.

Feil said he does not plan to hire a new assistant superintendent after Jame McCall retires at the end of May. Instead, he said her duties would be reassigned to a team of directors who would oversee categories of the school's operations, such as buildings, technology and pupil services.

"Ms. McCall's position was never meant to be long-term," he said.

Keith Shaw, who was elected to the school board in April, said he'd like to see an official proposal for Feil's restructuring plan, which Feil said he would submit for the next board meeting.

Board member Matthew Phipps ended the discussion by thanking McCall for the work she did for the district.
