Shane Beamer downplayed Mark Stoops’ “culture vs. climate” remarks in the offseason, but South Carolina’s head coach seemingly didn’t forget about it.

After the Gamecocks’ 24-14 upset in Lexington over the No. 13 Wildcats on Saturday, he and the Gamecocks relived their viral video moment from July’s SEC Media Days.

“At SEC Media Day, he talked about ‘stupid sunglasses and dancing,’ ” Beamer told his team Saturday night in the visiting locker room of Kroger Field.

Immediately after, he put on some sunglasses, flipped his hat around, and began dancing to Soulja Boy’s “Turn My Swag On” with the rest of the team.

A video of Kentucky’s coach aired in August — shot for the “Marty and McGee” show July 20 at SEC Media Days in Atlanta — with Stoops discussing the difference between changing the “climate” of a program and changing its “culture.”

“It’s easy to change a climate,” Stoops said in the clip that aired Tuesday on various ESPN networks. “You change a uniform, talk a little game, dance around, put on some stupid sunglasses.”

Many on social media believe Stoops was referring to Beamer’s viral video that released on social media as South Carolina took its turn at SEC Media Days a day before.
