Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) launched an effort on the House floor Wednesday to remove Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). The move eventually failed after lawmakers overwhelmingly voted to protect Johnson from a conservative coup.

Greene used a motion to vacate to force a vote on Johnson’s Speakership, the same tool used to remove former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
