Watch LSU softball's Karli Petty break scoreboard with home run in NCAA Baton Rouge Regional
LSU softball already had a comfortable lead over Southern Illinois in Sunday's NCAA Baton Rouge Regional final when second baseman Karli Petty stepped up to bat in the bottom of the third. Still, she swung away, and not only did Petty hit a home run, but she hit the ball so hard that it broke Tiger Park's scoreboard.
It was just Petty's fifth home run of the season, and her first since playing Liberty in the final series of the regular season. It set a new high for the redshirt senior since transferring to the Tigers from Oklahoma State two seasons ago.
