‘Dateline: Righteous Obsession’ (9 p.m., NBC)

This week’s “Dateline” gets a little local, with correspondent Dennis Murphy reporting on the August 2018 murder of antiques store owner Milton Henry Sawyer Jr. in the “sleepy waterfront North Carolina community” of Elizabeth City.

Murphy describes the case as a tale of “lust, obsession and manipulation,” with attorney Kim Pellini telling “Dateline” that the story “sounds like a Lifetime movie.” The episode will detail what investigators and prosecutors know about the case, including suspects, motive, trial and convictions. Interviews include: Milton Sawyer’s son Caleb Sawyer, Oregon dairy farmer and former youth pastor Louie Kazemier, state homicide investigator Steven Norman, Pasquotank County investigator Major Aaron Wallio and others.

20/20 (9 p.m., ABC)

This week’s case: an international search for millionaire suspected in wife’s murder takes a shocking twist.
