Watch former Purdue big man Zach Edey show off his shooting range at the NBA Draft Combine
Former Purdue center Zach Edey is a project first-round pick, and on Monday he got the opportunity to showcase his talents at the NBA Draft Combine.
During the combine, Edey showed scouts what to expect of him when it comes to shooting, running and moving off the dribble. While Edey didn't shoot 3-pointers much (he made his first and only shot from long range in February 2024), he didn't seem to struggle much with it at the combine.
Here is some of the reaction to Edey's showing at the combine.
Zach Edey says he has the 3-ball in his game right now already and he's looking forward to showing that. Doesn't look like a stretch here at the NBA draft combine. pic.twitter.com/Egc1HYfSDs

Zach Edey out here burying 3s in the shooting drills. Of course he’s not being defended but these drills are all about showing your form, range and release. @BoilerBall@NBADraft@NBATV@MarchMadnessMBB@B1GMBBall@BigTenNetwork

I tried to tell people. Zach Edey has offensive range, but a lot of people who watched him play for Purdue decided he can only post up/pick and roll. If Matt Painter has a player that unstoppable in the post and puts him on the perimeter, well, then, that's just bad coaching. https://t.co/953hRZUtY9

I don’t care how slow Zach Edey is, how short his vertical is or how he looks in a cone drill. If he’s on the board between 20-30, I’m snapping him up. Game film matters. This stuff doesn’t. pic.twitter.com/kJf4l5KpQG

The race we’ve all been waiting for. Zach Edey edges Donovan Clingan in 3/4 sprint by .03 of a second. pic.twitter.com/D4QEUCZ5br

Former Purdue big man Zach Edey just got measured & here are the results:
- 7’3.75” without shoes
- 7’10.75” wingspan
- 299 lbs
To be essentially 7'4 without shoes & 300 lbs with that reach, mobility, & skill just continues to shock me.

At the 2023 NBA Draft Combine, Zach Edey measured 7’3.25 inches without shoes.
At the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, Zach Edey measured 7’3.75 inches without shoes.
In the last year, Zach Edey…GREW?!?
I didn’t know that was possible. https://t.co/4um4iC3LYe— Ben Stevens (@BenScottStevens) May 13, 2024
