Watch an Emotional 'Young Sheldon' Series Finale Promo With Jim Parsons (Exclusive)

Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper in the 'Young Sheldon' series finale

The series finale of Young Sheldon airs on CBS next week. Over the course of seven seasons (and seven years), we’ve watched Sheldon (Iain Armitage) and his siblings grow from little kids to teenagers. One of them has even started a family of his own.

Our history watching these kids grow up gives this new finale promo, which Parade can exclusively share, its emotional potency. You will tear up seeing footage of 7-year-old Sheldon and Missy (Raegan Revord) from Season 1, as you’re confronted with how much they’ve changed from the cute little kids they were when we met them.

And that’s before you get to the scene of the Coopers finding out that George Sr. (Lance Barber) has died.

The inevitable moment has come, and it’s even sadder than we could have imagined.

You can sob your way through the rest of the promo until you get to the end, which features a flash-forward to adult Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and his wife Amy (Mayim Bialik), with Sheldon sharing a grateful remembrance of his father.

Young Sheldon is ending, but this isn’t the last you’ll see of the Cooper family; spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, about Sheldon’s brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy (Emily Osment), will premiere on CBS this fall.
