Nashville's Emmy Russell has made it to the Top 10 on the 22nd season of "American Idol."

The 25-year-old granddaughter of Loretta Lynn—an iconic country music star known for "Coal Miner's Daughter"—continues to progress through the singing competition.

Loretta Lynn died in October 2022 at age 90 at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN.

During her "Idol" audition, Russell told the judges she grew up on Lynn's ranch and spent much of her childhood on a tour bus. It all seemed "very normal" to her. "She's one of the biggest country music singers of all time, but to me she's just my grandma," Russell said on the show.

Russell has hit the stage seven times in this 'American Idol' season so far, continually advancing through the competition's cuts.

On Sunday, April 28 fans can watch "American Idol" on ABC at 7 p.m. CST to see if Russell continues to advance.
