How to Watch the 'CMA Country Christmas' Special Tonight

The CMA Country Christmas special is coming to town! Now in its 14th year, the holiday extravaganza is chock full of unique performances by beloved country music stars as they sing Christmas and holiday classics.
The special, which airs on ABC on Dec. 14, is hosted by Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood. Filmed in Nashville in front of a live audience, the show will feature performances by Jordan Davis, Amy Grant, Lady A, Ashley McBryde, Jon Pardi, Lindsey Stirling, The War And Treaty, Zach Williams, Lainey Wilson and Trisha Yearwood.
In fact, it’s fitting that Grant and Yearwood would co-host the beloved holiday special. Grant has been doing holiday albums since 1983. And just last year she released The Spirit of Christmas with Vince Gill, the London Voices and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Yearwood also has several holiday albums, including Christmas Together, which she released with her husband, Garth Brooks in 2016. Christmas has always had a special place in Yearwood’s heart.
“I loved and still love how Christmas is so festive,” Yearwood told this reporter in 2016. “As a kid, we would all pile in the car and drive around our little town of Monticello, Georgia to see the Christmas lights, and how everyone decorated their homes."
Yearwood went on to share, "Although my mom kept it simple, she’d cover the front door in wrapping paper and usually put a big bow on it, and then would light it from the ground. I loved seeing the homes all lit up for Christmas. You couldn’t have enough lights for me. Light the roofline, the windows, the doors, the shrubs in the yard, you name it!”
The country music superstar still adores the tradition of driving around and seeing all of the lights. “It makes me feel like we’re all in something together,” shared Yearwood. “We’re all trying to spread a little cheer….It’s nice to feel that common bond with people you don’t even know. I hope we can spread some of this good will over into the New Year!”
