BMW M wagons are a rare treat. Only three models exist; two versions of the M5 and the new M3 Touring. Neither of the M5 longroofs were sold in the United States, and BMW doesn't plan to import the new M3 wagon here either. But thanks to the power of the internet, we can see just how capable M's Touring cars are.

The AutoTopNL YouTube channel managed to get ahold of one of the few E61-generation M5 Tourings built for Europe in the mid-2000s for a recent video. Like the sedan, it comes packing a 500-hp naturally aspirated V-10 paired with a single-clutch automated transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Also like the sedan, it has a top speed of over 200 mph.

Towards the end of the video, we're treated to a top-speed run with the M5 Touring on Germany's derestricted Autobahn. It doesn't take long for the car to top out its speedometer, reaching an indicated 330 km/h (205 mph) before the driver backs off. Not bad for an estate car.

Even better than the speed is the M5's sound. That naturally aspirated V-10 is from a bygone era of performance, where displacement and revs outgunned turbochargers and hybrid assistance. So be sure to turn the sound up.
