How to Watch All the 2024 Oscar Nominated Short Films

This year's Oscar nominations are here, with 15 short films competing in three award categories—animated, live action, and documentary. If you've already seen all the Best Picture nominees, or you're just more of a short film type of person, here's where you can watch the Oscar nominated short films.
As they have in previous years, ShortsTV will be airing all the films in theaters, beginning on February 16. (Check showtimes and get tickets here.) "I love short films, and I love to make them. Movies were short before they were long! But sometimes it's a little tricky to find the time or the place when and where people actually want to WATCH them...So I'm especially happy our film The Wonderful World of Henry Sugar is being presented – along with the other shorts nominated for this year's live-action short film Academy Award – by ShortsTV in cinemas all over the world," filmmaker Wes Anderson said in a statement.

Animated Short Films
Letter to a Pig (Tal Kantor and Amit R. Gicelter) is about a Holocaust survivor who reads a letter he wrote to the pig who saved his life. Watch trailer
Ninety-Five Senses (Jerusha Hess and Jared Hess) is an ode to the body's five senses from the perspective of an older man who is losing them. Watch on Documentary+
Our Uniform (Yegane Moghaddam) is about an Iranian girl who unfolds her school memories through the wrinkles and fabrics of her old uniform. Watch on VHX
Pachyderme (Stéphanie Clément and Marc Rius) follows Louise, who stays at her grandparents in the countryside for a few days during the holidays. Watch on Vimeo
War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko (Dave Mullins and Brad Booker) is set in an alternative World War I where two opposing soldiers play chess, with their moves delivered by carrier pigeon. Watch trailer
Live Action Short Films
The After (Misan Harriman and Nicky Bentham) follows grieving rideshare driver (David Oyelowo) who picks up a passenger who helps him confront the past. Watch on Netflix
Invincible (Vincent René-Lortie and Samuel Caron) recounts the last 48 hours in the life of 14-year-old Marc-Antoine Bernier. Watch on Vimeo
Knight of Fortune (Lasse Lyskjær Noer and Christian Norlyk): The loss of a loved one, the grief, the risk of yellow skin, and a coffin, that is too much for Karl to face. Watch on YouTube
Red, White and Blue (Nazrin Choudhury and Sara McFarlane) tells the story of Rachel (Brittany Snow), a single parent living paycheck to paycheck who gets unexpectedly pregnant and has to travel across state lines in search of an abortion. Watch on VHX
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (Wes Anderson and Steven Rales) is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved story about a rich man who sets out to master an extraordinary skill to cheat at gambling. Watch on Netflix
Documentary Short Films
The ABCs of Book Banning (Sheila Nevins and Trish Adlesic) follows the fight against book bans in America, specifically in Florida. Watch on Paramount+
The Barber of Little Rock (John Hoffman and Christine Turner) explores America's racial wealth gap through the story of barber Arlo Washington, who founded People Trust. Watch on the New Yorker
Island in Between (S. Leo Chiang and Jean Tsien): S. Leo Chiang reflects on his relationship with Taiwan, the United States, and China from the islands of Kinmen. Watch on the New York Times
The Last Repair Shop (Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers): Los Angeles is one of the last American cities to provide free and freely repaired musical instruments to public schoolchildren—this film goes inside a warehouse where instruments are repaired for students. Watch on Disney+
Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó (Sean Wang and Sam Davis), which means Grandma & Grandma: "Nǎi Nai (奶奶) is my grandma. Wài Pó (外婆) is also my grandma. Together, they are a grandma super team that dances, stretches, and farts their sorrows away." Watch on Hulu Watch on Disney+
