The Isaiah Thomas free agency rumors continue to flow as this year’s NBA offseason progresses.

According to NBA insiders Jorge Sierra and Michael Scotto, the former two-time All Star is set to work out with the Golden State Warriors sometime next week.

Thomas has been eyeing an NBA return for quite some time.

Earlier this summer, the 32-year-old point guard worked out with the Los Angeles Lakers. But with a slew of veteran additions already added to the roster, that possibility never panned out.

Since he was traded away from the Boston Celtics in 2017, Thomas has spent time with five different NBA franchises. His most recent game in the league came on April 12, 2021, the final day of his 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.

While it’s been several months since the last time he was on an NBA roster, the 5-foot-9 PG has recently proven that he still has some gas in the tank. Back in August, he dropped 81-points in a Pro-Am game — famously breaking down in tears after the performance and proclaiming that the league “gave up” on him.

The Warriors could certainly benefit from a veteran presence off the bench to take some pressure off of Steph Curry. As of right now, the only true point guard on the roster behind Curry is Gary Payton II, who averaged just 2.5 points per game through 10 games with Golden State last season.

The NBA preseason will tipoff on Oct. 3.
