Want a quick 'I do' on Leap Day? Meow Wolf might be your wedding venue

Feb. 16—If you and your beloved are in the mood for a no-fuss wedding with no annual anniversaries, Meow Wolf may be the place for you on Leap Day.

The immersive art and entertainment giant will be conducting quick weddings Feb. 29 within its House of Eternal Return, 1352 Rufina Circle.

The weddings will be during regular business hours with visitors milling about.

"It will be a quick, I do, I do, you're married, congratulations," Meow Wolf sales and marketing manager Kate Daley said.

You get what you pay for, as the weddings are included at no extra charge with general admission.

Meow Wolf will have three staffers who also happen to be ordained ministers prowling the house, one dressed up as the Meow Wolf character The Historian.

Officiants will be on site from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Feb. 29.

The happy couple and all guests need general admission tickets. Daley recommends advanced purchase online with a timed entry — but, for the really spontaneous couple, walk-up ticket sales will likely be available.

Meow Wolf has done after-hours elopement packages for years and also rents out the House of Eternal Return after hours for weddings. But this is the first time Meow Wolf is doing weddings during visitor hours, Daley said.

"People asked often, 'Can we get married?' But we've never done it during general admission hours," she said.

Each married couple will receive a wedding acknowledgement designed by a Meow Wolf artist but must get a marriage license from the Santa Fe County clerk before the wedding. The license must be recorded with the county clerk within 90 days of the wedding.

Professional photographers are not allowed, but people can take snapshots to help you remember the moment when your anniversary rolls around four years from now.
