Walmart is lowering cost of food, gifts for holidays. Here's how to get Thanksgiving deals

Walmart announced sales on Wednesday that will lower the price of common holiday food items through the rest 2023 to ease the impact of inflation.

From Nov. 1 until Dec. 26, Walmart will lower the price of customers' favorite food items, including many brand names on things like turkeys, ham, stuffing and pumpkin pie ingredients.

Walmart said a customer survey found that 92% of shoppers were concerned about inflation, according to a news release.

The company lowered its holiday season prices in 2022, bringing food prices down to 2021 levels, with plans for the company to do the same this year.

While inflation in Arizona has been reduced by 3.7%, Walmart will offer temporary lower prices to keep money-conscious customers happy. Here’s what to know.

Starting Nov. 1, Walmart will offer customers two Thanksgiving meal options: one for home cooks and the other for those who prefer ready-to-eat options.

Food items on sale will include Stove Top stuffing, Ocean Spray cranberry sauce and ready-to-eat Marie Calendar Pies. They will be sold at "prices lower than last year," according to a Walmart news release.

Thanksgiving turkeys will be available for under $1 a pound as part of Walmart’s meal options.

Walmart will also offer low prices on their generic brand Great Value.

What other holiday sales will Walmart have?

Walmart will offer customers lowered prices on holiday gifts and items to prepare for the upcoming Christmas season.

The company will offer 1,000 new toys, with over 500 Walmart exclusives and many of the top toys of 2023 costing less than $25.

Walmart said customers can expect sales on brands like Dyson, Michael Kors, Reebok, Sony and Samsung.

How is Walmart remaining competitive despite inflation?

Walmart said in a news release that saving their customers money is a major part of its business model, and they have done this by offering customers many convenience options.

The company offers item pickup at most of its locations, and it recently announced express delivery options for last-minute shoppers.

“Saving money remains a top priority for our customers, and this holiday season, we’re building on the investments we made last year knowing they need it now more than ever,” said John Furner, CEO of Walmart U.S.
