For $13M, this could be the view you wake up to every day — it’s very San Francisco

A San Francisco home “painstakingly expanded and rebuilt” over a three-year period has hit the market anew for a tad under $13 million.

For that price, you can wake up every morning (when the fog has lifted) gazing out your bedroom window at the Golden Gate Bridge. The stately home, a collaboration between New York-based designer Remy Renzullo and architect Stephen Sutro, sits atop a cliff in one of the city’s most exclusive spots with not only views of Pacific Ocean but also of Baker Beach and Park Presidio from its multiple levels.

Built in 1916, the home in Sea Cliff (16 Sea Cliff Ave.) “ was painstakingly expanded and rebuilt from top to bottom, system by system, foundation to the roof, using the finest materials and craftsmanship available over a period of three years,” according to the property listing. “The intention was to create a one-of-a-kind residence with everything one would expect in a modern home but with a sense of history and belonging of a property that has stood for a century.”

The 108-year-old property — designed to mix formal architectural elements with the appeal of an informal beach house — is highlighted by “exquisite finishes and materials ... each detail executed with intention and a level of precision seldom seen in the San Francisco marketplace,” the listing states.

That work includes custom solid wood built-ins throughout, board-and-batten paneling, and custom handcrafted tile and fixtures by top London manufacturers, according to Sotheby’s International Realty, which holds the listing.

Spanning more than 6,000 square feet of living space over four levels, the residence offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two powder rooms. A remodeled detached studio sits at the back of the lot, which the listing suggests could be used as a home office, yoga studio or guest cottage.

The turn-key home is a two-minute walk to Baker Beach. There’s parking for at leat four vehicles.

Sadie Bea Lee LLC, listed as the owner, purchased the property in 2019 for $7.15 million from sellers Nehal Raj and Jenny Fan Raj, according to public property records.

Josh McAdam of Sotheby’s International Realty - San Francisco Brokerage is the listing agent.
