  • They can vote by mail.

For New Jersey voters interested in the vote-by-mail option, they still have two options for requesting a ballot. Voters can request ballots through the mail up to a week before the election and in person at their county clerk’s office until 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6.

There are three ways to return those ballots.

  1. The vote-by-mail ballot can be returned by mail. It must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Nov. 7 and be received by your county’s board of elections on or before the sixth day after the close of the polls.

  2. They can be put in a secure ballot drop box in your county by 8 p.m. on Nov. 7. The list of drop box locations for each county can be found at vote.nj.gov.

  3. The ballots can be dropped off in person at your county’s board of elections office by 8 p.m. on Nov. 7.

Early in-person voting

Voters can take advantage of the opportunity to vote in person ahead of Election Day. Each county has designated early voting locations.

Polls will be open from Oct. 28 to Nov. 5 at those locations. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
