Vote: Walk off home run headlines Columbia area boys athlete of the week nominees

It's time to vote for The Daily Herald's Columbia area boys athlete of the week for April 8-12. The poll is open so vote now for the top baseball or soccer player in the Columbia area this past week.

Here are this week's candidates:

Will Rhodes, Columbia Academy: Rhodes pitched five innings, striking out 11 batters while allowing two hits and no earned runs in a 15-1 win last Friday.

Fabricio Rodriguez, Columbia Central: Rodriguez scored four goals against Warren County last Tuesday.

Benton Wall, Columbia Central: Wall had a goal and two assists in a 6-0 win last Tuesday.

Saxon Roberts, Independence: Roberts went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs in a 12-2 win over Brentwood last Wednesday. Roberts also went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs in a 5-4 loss to Beech last Friday.

Alex Bedford, Lawrence County: Bedford was 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three RBIs and three additional runs in a 9-4 win last Monday. Bedford then went 1-for-3 with a home run and RBI last Tuesday.

Truitt Kidd, Lawrence County: Kidd was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in a 5-4 loss last Tuesday.

Jameson Andrews, Richland: Andrews went 4-for-4 with a triple, double, stolen base, run and four RBIs in a 9-1 win last Friday. Andrews was also 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs in a 17-2 win over Santa Fe last Monday.

Gage Whitt, Richland: Whitt pitched seven innings, striking out 11 batters while allowing three hits and no earned runs in a 9-1 win last Friday. Whitt was also 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Bryson Jones, Spring Hill: Jones was 3-for-5, hitting a walk off home run and RBI in a 9-8 win over Coffee County.

Davin Roush, Summit: Roush pitched seven innings allowing zero runs and one hit while striking out 10 batters in a 3-0 win over Ravenwood.
