Vote for the SouthCoast High School Girls Athlete of the Week for April 22-28

The winner of last week’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll was Bishop Stang’s Sofie Doucet. She had more than 1,400 votes (78%) to receive the honor. Doucet scored a team-high five goals in a win over St. John Paul II.

Previous winners were Apponequet’s Abby Bradley and Old Rochester’s Neva Matos. The winner of the Preseason Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Casalice Dias. The winner of the Preseason Girls Tennis Player of the Year poll was Old Rochester’s Neva Matos.

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Abby Bradley, Apponequet

Bradley had a combined 17 goals in three games for the Lakers.

Jayleigh Howarth, Apponequet

Howarth had a combined 11 goals in three games.

Cece Levrault, Apponequet

In two games, Levrault had a combined 10 goals.

Julia Pelzarski, Bishop Stang

Pelzarski had a combined five goals in a pair of games.

Grace Haskell, Dartmouth

In three games, Haskell had a combined 20 goals, including the 200th point of her career.

Kyla Martin, Dartmouth

Martin had a combined seven goals and one assist in three games.

Carlie Francis, Fairhaven

Against Somerset Berkley, Francis had four goals, including the 100th of her career.

Zaria Anderson, New Bedford

Anderson had a team-high four goals in a win over Bishop Stang.

Violet Lopes, New Bedford

Lopes recorded a team-high four goals in a win over Bourne.

Abby Pitts, Old Colony

Pitts recorded five goals in a win over Southeastern.

Lulu Johnson, Old Rochester

Johnson had five goals in a win over Fairhaven. She also had three goals against D-R.

Kelly Quinlan, Old Rochester

Quinlan had a combined seven goals and one assist in a pair of games.

GIRLS TRACK

Reagan Flynn, Apponequet

Flynn was fastest in the 100 and 200 in a win over Dighton-Rehoboth.

Morgan Hayward, Apponequet

Hayward took first in the 400 hurdles and 400 meters against D-R.

Orianna Hernandez, Apponequet

Against Dighton-Rehoboth, Hernandez won the triple jump and long jump.

Maddy Duarte, GNB Voc-Tech

Against Seekonk, Duarte won the high jump and mile.

Shelby Ruffley, GNB Voc-Tech

Ruffley took first in the 400 hurdles, 200 meters and javelin against Seekonk.

GIRLS TENNIS

Kohana Fontinha, Apponequet

Fontinha won her first singles matches against Dighton-Rehoboth and Dartmouth.

Camille Taradash, Dartmouth

Taradash won her second singles matches against Apponequet, Brockton and Durfee to power Dartmouth to three straight wins.

Sabrina Zheng, Fairhaven

Zheng won all three of her second singles matches against Case, Seekonk and Westport.

Emma Gibney, New Bedford

Gibney won both of her first singles matches in a doubleheader against Seekonk.

Macy Ingham, Old Rochester

Ingham won both of her second singles matches against Apponequet and Somerset Berkley to remain undefeated on the season.

Neva Matos, Old Rochester

Matos won her first singles matches against Apponequet and Somerset Berkley to stay perfect on the season.

Brooklyn Bindas, Wareham

Bindas won her first singles match against Dighton-Rehoboth to stay perfect on the season.
