Vote for the SouthCoast High School Boys Athlete of the 2024 spring playoffs

The 2024 spring playoffs are officially over for Massachusetts high school sports.

Two SouthCoast baseball teams — Apponequet and Bishop Stang— made it to the Div. 3 Elite 8 with the Lakers advancing to the Final Four for the first time in 13 years.

Here’s your chance to vote for the top postseason performance among SouthCoast male athletes.

VOTE: Girls Athlete of the 2024 spring playoffs

BASEBALL

Dylan Bradley, Apponequet

Bradley pitched a complete-game, allowing one unearned run on five hits and four walks while striking out four to lift Apponequet past Dover-Sherborn. He also started in the Final Four against Oakmont and went three innings, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out two.

Brody Joly, Apponequet

Joly had Apponequet’s lone run in a 5-1 loss to Oakmont Regional in the Div. 3 Final Four.

Nathan Levesque, Apponequet

Levesque threw a complete-game, one-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts in a Div. 3 playoff win over Gloucester. He also allowed six hits with one walk and one hit batsman while striking out 13 over seven innings against Sandwich.

Lucas Tremblay, Apponequet

Tremblay drove in the winning run to give Apponequet a thrilling 1-0 walk-off win over Sandwich in the Div. 3 Elite 8. He also had two hits and two RBIs against Glouester.

Matt Burt, Bishop Stang

Burt had a combined five hits, three RBIs and a run scored in three playoff games for Stang. He also pitched a complete-game win over Tewksbury, allowing one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out four.

Brock Winslow, Bishop Stang

Winslow went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored against Tewksbury and added a hit and run scored against Auburn.

Markus Andrews, Dartmouth

Andrews had two of Dartmouth’s four hits in a Div. 2 playoff loss to Hopkinton. He also had two RBIs against Mansfield.

Justin Cleaves, Dartmouth

Against Mansfield, Cleaves had a solo home run and also drove in a pair of runs.

Ian Rego, Dartmouth

Rego gave up four hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out seven and walking three in a Div. 2 playoff win over Mansfield.

Jason Perry, Fairhaven

Perry struck out nine and allowed one run on three hits over 4 ⅓ innings in a 2-0 Div. 3 playoff loss to Norwell. Perry got out of a bases-loaded jam in the third inning.

BOYS LACROSSE

Kevin O’Connor, Apponequet

In a playoff win over Shawsheen Valley, O’Connor had five goals and one assist in addition to winning 16 faceoffs.

Kenny Wisniewski, Apponequet

Wisniewski had four goals and one assist against Shawsheen Valley.

Eli Ikkela, Bishop Stang

Ikkela had seven goals and two assists in an overtime loss to Wilmington in the playoffs.

Will Sanders, Bishop Stang

Sanders made 18 saves against Wilmington.

Jackson Hart, Dartmouth

Hart had a team-high three goals in a playoff win over Malden Catholic.

Lennox Massucco, Dartmouth

Massucco scored the game-winner against Malden Catholic with less than 90 seconds left to lift Dartmouth to its first playoff win in several years. He finished with two goals.

BOYS TENNIS

Will Horton, Apponequet

Horton won his first singles matches against Martha’s Vineyard, Foxboro and Whitinsville Christian to help the Lakers reach the Div. 3 Elite 8.

Will Harrington, Dartmouth

Harrington won his third singles match against Milton to put Dartmouth into the Div. 2 Sweet 16.

Kole Pinto, Fairhaven

Pinto won his first singles matches against Lee, Amesbury and Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion as the Blue Devils reached the Div. 4 Elite 8.

BASEBALL: Apponequet's historic year comes to a close

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Jack Gwowdz, GNB Voc-Tech

Gwowdz had a combined 21 kills and 38 assists in two games as Voc-Tech won the State Vocational Large School title. He also had 15 assists, nine digs and five kills against Lowell Catholic in the MIAA playoffs.

Colin Stuessi, GNB Voc-Tech

Stuessi had a combined 37 kills and 39 digs in a pair of games to power the Bears to the State Vocational Large School title. He also had 12 kills and 11 digs in a Div. 1 playoff win over Lowell Catholic.

Carter Barbosa, New Bedford

Barbosa had a combined 57 assists in a pair of Div. 1 playoff games for New Bedford.

Juan Grau Montano, New Bedford

Montano had a combined 25 kills in two playoff games. He also added five blocks against BC High.

Nick Rosa, New Bedford

Rosa averaged 10 kills in a pair of Div. 1 playoff games.
