VOTE: Shore Softball Player of the Week No. 3, sponosred by Larson Ford

The Shore Conference continues to be a dogfight with tough teams across the board in all six divisions. The upsets kept coming in Week 3, as Point Pleasant Borough toppled Southern to advance to the Ocean Count Tournament final. And a sleeper impressive team was Manasquan, which went toe-to-toe with two non-public powers, narrowly losing St. John Vianney (3-0) and Red Bank Catholic (2-0). Although those two contenders avoided the upset, it spoke to the depth of the league.

The grind of the season is allowing the depth of talent across the Shore reveal itself even further. Check out 10 of the most impressive performers from the third week, followed by a poll for readers to select the best of the group. The poll will close on May 2 at 10 p.m.

Opening Week Winner: Congratulations to Poll No. 1 winner Lily Hagan of Red Bank Catholic, who pulled in 46.73% percent of the votes. The runnerup was Holmdel's Emma Vanario (41.12%).

Week 2 Winner: It was a well deserved win for Morgan O'Sullivan of Red Bank Catholic, who was a clear choice with 54.73% of the vote. The Caseys' two elite pitchers have now taken the first two Player of the Week honors.

Alexandra Santos - OF - Jackson Memorial - Jr.

Santos has been on a tear the last five games, even as the Jaguars have suffered some heartbreaking one-run losses. The junior has at least one RBI in each of the last five games (nine total over that span) and had two home runs against Southern.

Cassidy Supplee - OF - Point Pleasant Borough - So.

The Panthers continue to be a revelation with a 10-1 record and an upset win over Southern in the Ocean County Tournament. Supplee has been excellent all season with a .528 average, but especially over the past five games with seven RBIs and two home runs.

Christina Ginex - UT - Donovan Catholic - Jr.

Ginex has been an explosive offensive force over the past several games, but that went to a new level in the shootout 21-11 victory over Colts Neck. She had five RBIs and a home run, bringing her totals over the past four games to an absurd 22 RBIs with three home runs.

Daniella Vitale - OF - Point Pleasant Beach - Sr.

Point Beach is the last remaining undefeated team and this senior is a major reason why. Her numbers are astonishing on the season, posting a .714 average with 16 RBIs.

Isabelle Wiemer - 1B - Matawan - Jr.

It was always going to be tough for the Huskies to damage against SJV, but outside of that game they've been on a real strong streak thanks to Wiemer. She's batting .483 and had 10 RBIs over the past four games before the tough matchup against the Lancers.

Jamison Hogan - P - Barnegat - Sr.

Barnegat has sneakily gotten out to a solid 6-3 start and the senior pitcher has been a staple for the Bengals. She's allowed two earned runs with 26 strikeouts over the past three games. She's also batting .364 with three RBIs this season.

Jordan Terefenko - C - Red Bank Catholic - Sr.

Take your pick from the multiple elite players at RBC, but Terefenko was pivotal in the Caseys' huge win over Livingston. The senior had three RBIs in that game and had an RBI as they survived an upset bid by Manasquan.

Kaleigh Fitzgibbons - P - Toms River East - Sr.

It was a tough showing against Central Regional, but that bump should not detract from an excellent week for the Raiders as they were on a seven-game win streak. The senior pitcher was key, with 35 strikeouts and two shutouts in addition to five RBIs on offense. She also has a .633 batting average this season.

Madison McDougall - P - St. John Vianney - So.

McDougall could be selected in any given week, her level of play is just so incredibly high. But the sophomore was truly incredible this past week on the mound. The Lancers have won seven straight and she's allowed one run total with 75 strikeouts. And that's in addition to 11 RBIs and one home run.

Raritan’s Scarlett O’Hea gets a high five after scoring fourth Rarittan run of game. Raritan Softball defeats Holmdel 5-2 on April 19, 2024 in Holmdel, NJ.
Raritan’s Scarlett O’Hea gets a high five after scoring fourth Rarittan run of game. Raritan Softball defeats Holmdel 5-2 on April 19, 2024 in Holmdel, NJ.

Scarlett O’Hea - OF - Raritan - Sr.

O'Hea is leading the Rockets in RBIs with 19 after an incredible run of offense over the past two weeks. The senior had six straight games with an RBI (14 total) before the streak was finally snapped in a 2-1 loss to Holmdel, but her clutch hitting, and excellent defense in the outfield, is a big reason why the Rockets are 8-3.
