Welcome to the eighth installment of the Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week for the 2023-24 winter sports season, presented by York County Community College.

This week, and in weeks to come, you can vote for a girls athlete of the week and a boys athlete of the week.

This week's poll is for outstanding athletic accomplishments during the week of Feb. 5-10.

How do I cast my vote?

Voting can be completed through the two ballots listed below. Voting closes midnight Thursday, Feb. 15.

How do we learn who wins?

Winners will be announced in a story published on Friday, Feb. 16 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.

May I nominate for future ballots?

Yes. Nominate a Seacoast high school athlete by sending an email to sports@seacoastonline.com. Feel free to send us a photo of the athlete, too.

BOYS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Talon Beyer, Oyster River, hockey

Beyer recorded a hat trick to lead Oyster River to a 10-1 win over Bishop Brady last Monday in a Division II clash. Beyer also had two goals in the Bobcats' 3-2 win over Goffstown on Wednesday.

Isaiah Reis, Portsmouth, basketball

Portsmouth High School sophomore guard Isaiah Reis scored a team-high 23 points in a 70-59 win over Memorial on Friday night at Portsmouth High School to snap a five game losing streak.

Reis scored a team-high 23 points to help the Clippers snap a five-game losing streak in a 70-59 win over Memorial on Friday. He also had a 21-point performance in a 62-60 loss to Goffstown on Tuesday.

Colin O'Loughlin, Traip Academy, basketball

O'Loughlin scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Rangers to a Class D win over Pine Tree last Tuesday.

Haydn Forbes, York, basketball

York's Haydn Forbes posts up teammate Lucas Ketchum during Monday's boys basketball practice. Forbes is expected to be back in game action later in the season as he deals with an injured left thumb.
York's Haydn Forbes posts up teammate Lucas Ketchum during Monday's boys basketball practice. Forbes is expected to be back in game action later in the season as he deals with an injured left thumb.

Forbes scored a team-high 19 points and snatched 12 rebounds for a double-double in York's 75-44 win over Poland on Thursday.

Owen Helton, Winnacunnet, hockey

Helton had seven saves and kept Portsmouth/Newmarket off the scoreboard in Winnacunnet's 4-0 Division II win on Saturday.

GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Kensley Harris, St. Thomas Aquinas/Winnacunnet/Dover

Harris recorded 27 saves to guide the St. Thomas Aquinas/Winnacunnet/Dover to a 3-0 win over Concord last Tuesday in a Division I game. Harris also had 22 saves in a 4-2 win over Concord on Friday.

Kaelyn Cooper, Exeter, hockey

Cooper's three goals led the Blue Hawks to a Division I win over Souhegan last Wednesday.

Skylar Knowlton, St. Thomas Aquinas, swimming

St. Thomas Aquinas' Skylar Knowlton won two individual state championships in Saturday's Division II swim meet at UNH
St. Thomas Aquinas' Skylar Knowlton won two individual state championships in Saturday's Division II swim meet at UNH

Knowlton won two individual Division II state championships - the 200-and 500-yard freestyle in Saturday's state meet at UNH. Knowlton swam the 200 in one minute, 50.09 seconds, and completed the 500 in (4:53.28).

Hadley Prewitt, Marshwood, alpine skiing

Prewitt placed first overall with a combined time of 1:31.59 at the SMAA giant slalom championships at Pleasant Mountain Ski Area.

Charlotte Koutalidis, Winnacunnet, swim

Koutalidis won first-place in the 1500m (4:49.34) in Sunday's Division I state meet at Plymouth State University.
