The Oregon Relays concluded and Eugene-area athletes left with a slew of top finishes and PRs.

This week's Register-Guard Athlete of the Week nominees are:

  • Adam Reeder, Sheldon boys track and field

  • Eli Forsha, Sheldon boys track and field

  • Capri Betenson, South Eugene girls track and field

  • Addison Kleinke, Churchill girls track and field

  • Yosuke Shibata, South Eugene boys track and field

  • Owen Fuller, Springfield boys track and field

  • Owen Davis-Piger, South Eugene boys golf

Adam Reeder, Sheldon boys track and field

Sheldon senior Adam Reeder won the boys 800 meters in a personal record time of 1:53.12.

Eli Forsha, Sheldon boys track and field

Sheldon junior Eli Forsha won the boys triple jump with a personal record jump of 47 feet, 1 1∕2. He ran the second leg in the Irish's 4x100 relay team that placed 15th with a season-best time of 43.22.

Capri Betenson, South Eugene girls track and field

South Eugene freshman Capri Betenson placed third in the freshmen girls 100 meters with a time of 12:50. She placed fifth in the freshmen girls 40 with a time of 5:41 and ran the third leg on the Axe's 800 sprint medley that placed ninth with a time of 1:54.73.

Addison Kleinke, Churchill girls track and field

Churchill sophomore Addison Kleinke placed second in the girls pole vault with a season-best jump of 13-5 1 1∕4.

Yosuke Shibata, South Eugene boys track and field

South Eugene freshman Yosuke Shibata placed second in the freshmen boys 2-mile with a time of 9:43.26. He placed second in the freshmen boys 3,000 meters with a time of 9:05.86 and 3,200 with a time of 9:40.24. Shibata ran the second leg on the Axe's 4x800 relay team that placed second with a time of 7:58.89.

Owen Fuller, Springfield boys track and field

Springfield senior Owen Fuller placed second in the boys 1,000 meters with a time of 2:32.88. He placed fifth in the boys 800 with a time of 2:01.91.

Owen Davis-Piger, South Eugene boys golf

Senior Owen Davis-Piger won the boys high school invitational with a 3-under-par 69 among 72 individuals competing at Eugene Country Club.
