Vote now: Who is the Herald-Times athlete of the week for April 29-May 4?

Here is the latest Herald-Times Athlete of the Week poll for April 29-May 4.

Congratulations to last week's winner, Bloomington South track athlete Ellie Barada, who earned 33.2% of the vote (40,753) to top South softball player Abby Purtlebaugh (28.6%) and North boys' track athlete Caleb Winders (15.1%). In all, an impressive 122,761 votes were cast.

Voting runs through Thursday at noon and readers can vote as much as they like. Here are this week's nominees, scroll to the bottom of the story to vote:

Anna Barnes, South girls track

Had a strong series in discus with four efforts over 114, topping out with a career-best 126-6 at the North-South meet. Also had a career-best 36-8 on her last throw in the shot put. She placed second in both events.

Jacob Bellman, Eastern Greene baseball

Went 3-for-3 with two RBI in the 6-3 win over host Heritage Hills in the championship game of the Abe Lincoln Tournament. In four games last week, he was 5-for-10 with a triple and five RBI, finishing with an OPS of 1.200. Got the win in a five-inning rout of WRV.

Lilyanna Blais, Eastern Greene girls track

Junior had a busy night at the Greene County Invitational, winning the 800 (2:33.37) and placing second in the 400 (1:03.26), 1,600 (5:23.35) and 3,200.

Ally Bland, Edgewood softball

Sophomore had a big week at the plate, going 9-of-16 with seven RBIs and also picked up four pitching wins while giving up just one run as the Mustangs swept three teams at their invitational and also topped WIC foes Northview and Greencastle.

Taylor Crohn, South softball

Freshman came up big for the Panthers in a dramatic 2-1 win over Seymour, knocking in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Olivia Roberts singled and went to second on Lindsey Blanton's sac bunt to start the rally before Crohn's hit. She was also 1-for-4 in a CI win over Terre Haute North.

Ethan Isles, North boys' track

Senior leaped a career best 14-0 to win boys pole vault at the North-South meet, breaking his PR of 13-6 from the Conference Indiana meet the week before.

Taylor Monroe, Owen Valley softball

Senior exploded in four wins over South Putnam, North Putnam, White River Valley and Eminence that pushed the Patriots win streak to six, going 12-of-16 with 14 RBIs. She had two homers, two doubles and two triples. She scored eight runs and stole four bases.

South boys 1,600 relay

John Sobiech, Teagan Bullock, Adrian Rheam and Josh Tait (47.93 anchor) broke the school record (3:22.4) that dated back to the 1984 state finals with a 3:21.78 to end the North-South meet.

Ziggy Teran, Edgewood baseball

Tossed a 1-hitter as the Mustangs ended the Hall of Fame Tournament in Jasper with a 3-0 win over Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger.

Roman Valentine, Eastern Greene golf/track

Senior won the 300 hurdles at the Greene County Invitational, took third in the 110s and won pole vault (10-6) to help the T-Birds win the team title. Also ran leg for the winning 1,600 relay. Earlier in the week, fired a pair of 41s for the T-Birds golf team.

Grace Wellman, North girls track

Senior won the 100 by .02 (12.91), placed third in the 200 (27.05) and was on the first place 400 relay (49.70) at the North-South meet.
