VOTE for the North Jersey Softball Player of the Week for April 22-28

After another exciting week of the high school softball season, it's time to look back on the best performances.

Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the North Jersey Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Voting closes at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Nina Danyluk, Glen Rock

Danyluk was a big part of the Panthers win over Hawthorne (handing them their first loss) on Monday, and finished the week 9-16 with six RBIs and four runs scored. She also bounced around multiple defensive positions. She has 90 career hits and has had a hit in every game this season.

LeeAnn Downey, Ramapo

The Green Raiders went 5-0 this past week and Downey had a monster offensive week going 14-18 with four doubles, a homer, 10 RBIs, 10 runs scored and seven steals.

Morgan Garth, Bergen Charter

The Yellow Jackets have already set a new school record for wins in a season and Garth led the team to three victories, getting 30 strikeouts this week in 22 innings, while also going 8-16 at the plate with 10 RBIs, two triples and seven stolen bases.

Liliana Houser, Wayne Valley

The Indians continue to make noise with the sophomore outfielder helping out in two clutch wins, including an upset of Wayne Valley. At the plate, she batted .500 for the week, made several plays in the outfield, including an assist on a double play.

Gia Liu, Ridgewood

Liu does it all for the Maroons. She went 3-5 and scored three runs in a big win over Glen Rock, then followed it up with three more runs scored in the Maroons county tournament win over Leonia.

Allison Stein, West Milford

A key part of the Highlanders for four years, Stein had a big week as West Milford edged rivals Passaic Valley and Lakeland in two thrillers. She finished the week 7-13 with four runs scored and seven RBIs.
