Vote for Louisville-area high school girls athlete of the week before polls close Thursday
Postseason quickly is approaching for girls basketball teams, and the nominees for The Courier Journal athlete of the week turned in stellar performances during the last week of January.
Voting is underway! Be sure to cast your vote at the bottom of this page. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

Kylie Downey, North Bullitt, basketball
Sophomore guard Kylie Downey had 27 points and seven rebounds in North Bullitt's 66-50 win over Ballard.
Piper Scott, Portland Christian, basketball
Junior guard Piper Scott helped lead the Eagles to two victories. She scored 26 points against Francis Parker in a 69-35 win and 18 points against North Hardin Classical in a 55-19 win.
Taryn Morris, Assumption, basketball
Senior Taryn Morris had 20 points and nine rebounds, leading Assumption to a 62-54 win over Central.
Allison Spieker, Whitefield Academy, basketball
Senior guard Allison Spieker led the Wildcats to two victories. Spieker tallied 18 points in Whitefield Academy's win over Jeffersontown. She had 21 points and seven rebounds in a 62-28 win over Shawnee.
Anna Rodgers, Bullitt East, basketball
Senior Anna Rodgers posted 20 points and eight rebounds in a 58-49 loss to Meade County. She totaled 18 points and seven rebounds in a win against Jeffersontown.
