VOTE: Who is the Herald-Times Athlete of the Week for April 15-20?
More terrific performances to honor from last week, from school record breakers and clutch hit heroes to zeroes and zeroes put up by pitchers. It's time to determine who is the Herald-Times Athlete of the Week for April 15-20.
Congratulations to last week's winner, Bloomington South baseball player Connor Osborne, who grabbed 36.7% of the vote (12,961) to top North runner Jack Holden (25.5%) and Eastern Greene baseball standout Gavin Whitfield.

Here are this week's nominees:
Ally Bland, Edgewood softball
Sophomore continued to impress, going 2-1 while giving up just three earned runs and striking out 33 while walking just two. She tossed a two-hitter with 11 Ks in four innings in a rout of Brown County, then matched Evansville commit Kate Ridgway of Sullivan for five scoreless innings, finishing with a one-hitter with 11 Ks in a 1-0 loss. Wrapped up with a three-hitter, striking out 16 in a 5-0 win over Linton.
Kinsey Clopton, South softball
Pitched just one game last week but it was a doozy, lasting 12 innings and 191 pitches in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Terre Haute South. Clopton struck out a school record 24 batters, pushing her over 100 on the season.
Hogan Conder, North boys' golf
Fired an 80 at Rae Park in the Terre Haute South's Bob Arnett Invitational to tie for fourth and lead the Cougars to seventh place.
Jade Dawes, Eastern Greene boys track
Jade Dawes was second in the 400 (52.99), third in 800 (2:11.43), second in 1,600 (4:52.18) and anchored the 4x800 to third (9:10.79) as the T-Birds won the Linton Invitational. In a meet on a windy night at North Daviess, Dawes won the 400, 800 and 1,600.
Luke Garrett, South boys golf
Had an outstanding 1-under par round of 71 to lead the Panthers to a 299 and a win over Martinsville at FoxCliff and had a 75 as South shot a 306 in a win over Bedford North Lawrence at Otis Park. Had an 83 at Sultans Run in the Jasper Showcase.
Jonas Hawk, Eastern Greene baseball
The T-Birds went 3-0 last week as the senior shook off a recent slump, hitting .571 (8-of-14) with five RBI including the walk-off single in the 10th against Paoli. He also stole four bases and had an OPS of 1.143.
Jessica Hovious, Eastern Greene softball
Tossed a pair of five-inning, two-hitters, the first in a 14-1 win over Shoals; and the other in a 19-2 whipping of Greenwood Christian. Also had a triple in a loss to Mitchell and walked twice and scored four runs in a 12-7 win over Loogootee.
Jaidyn Johnson, North boys track
Our Week 2 winner is back again after a career day at the Edgewood Invitational on Saturday, lowering his school record in the 100 to win in 10.34, anchoring the 400 relay to win in 42.86 and in his fifth race of the day, sped to a 21.15 in the 200, snapping the school mark of 21.44, et by state champion Thomas Brashear, that had stood since 1997.
Isaac Lawson, Edgewood baseball
Shortstop had a big hand, and bat, in a 4-0 week for the Mustangs, finishing 7-of-13 with four RBI, seven runs scored (including both in a 2-1 win over Columbus East), five stolen bases and three walks.
Hadley Lucas, North girls track
Broke both of her school records in the throws last week, going 50-11 in the shot put in a meet against Columbus East and then winning the discus title at the Edgewood Invitational with a 170-0.
Wren Millick & Maris Holmes, Edgewood girls tennis
Duo at No. 2 doubles went 3-1 on the week with a dramatic 6-7(8), 6-1, 6-1 win to clinch a 3-2 victory over rival Bloomington North. Also had wins against Brown County and South Putnam. Holmes paired with Deep Patel in a win against North Daviess. Only loss was 4-6, 6-3, (10-8) to Indian Creek.
Taylor Monroe, Owen Valley softball
Taylor Monroe had a monster night for the Patriots in a dramatic 7-6, 10-inning win over Northview, going 4-for-6 with a home run and six RBI, the last one coming in the top of the 10th to win it.
Gabe Taylor, South boys track
Sophomore put together two of the best races in the 100 and 200 in school history at the Edgewood Invitational. He was third in the 100 with a 11.16 and then second in the 200 with a 22.59, both career bests. Anchored the 4x100 relay to third in a season best 44.09.
