Each week during the high school sports season, the Carlsbad Current-Argus asks readers to vote in the Prep Hero of the Week Poll.

This week people can vote for their favorite baseball player. Voting concludes at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday and the winner will be announced at www.currentargus.com Thursday.

Aden Quintella Carlsbad infielder: Had two home runs in the first game of a doubleheader against Roswell last weekend.

Eloy Lopez Carlsbad pitcher: The sophomore limited the Coyotes to two runs in the first game of the doubleheader as the Cavemen won 12-2.

Nathaniel Collins Loving third baseman: Scored two runs against the Jal Panthers during the first game of a doubleheader last week.

Diego Leija Loving first baseman: Had two hits and scored two runs against Jal in the opening game of the doubleheader.

Jack Byers Artesia: Had a .750 batting average with three hits and drove in two runs against the Lovington Wildcats last week in the first game of a doubleheader.
