Vote: Fans make their choice for Gadsden-area high school football player of the year

With high school football season now complete in the Gadsden area, it's time for you the fans to vote for your player of the year.

It was another success season around Etowah County, with Coosa Christian making the state title game and Gadsden City making the third round.

Four other teams made it into the playoffs, elsewhere in the area Fyffe won its seventh state title while Cherokee County fell in the state title game again. Geraldine, Pisgah and Guntersville all made it to the semifinal round.

The 41 nominees come all of the 27 schools in the Gadsden area, and were the best of the best on each of their teams. Most of the nominees are all-state or area nominees. The voting will go through Sunday, Dec. 24, at noon CT.
