Vote for the Clarksville-area girls high school athlete of the week for January 8-14

Who should be the Clarksville-area girls high school athlete of the week for Jan. 8-14? Here's your chance to vote.

Fans can vote once per hour. The poll will close at noon on Friday.

Previous winners for the winter sports season are Clarksville Academy's Malaya Woullard, Northeast's Qimara Summers (twice), Northwest's Kendall Myree, West Creek's Eleasa Renken, West Creek's Mariana Bowen and West Creek's Lexi Dean.

This week's candidates are listed below.

Audra Buckley, wrestling, Montgomery Central: Placed first in the 185-pound weight class at the Memphis Girls Open on Jan. 13 as Central came in second out of 15 teams. Went 4-1 on the week with three pins.

Grace Fuuau, basketball, Northwest: Scored a team-leading 18 points in a 58-25 win over Kenwood on Jan. 12.

Ava Johnson, wrestling, Clarksville: Won the 126-pound championship at the Memphis Girls Open and helped the Wildcats place first overall. In six matches on the week, totaled five pins and a technical fall.

R'Shonte Kizer, basketball, Houston County: Had 21 points, three rebounds and hit five 3-pointers in a 47-43 loss to East Hickman on Jan. 9.

Kayla Maslonka, wrestling, Fort Campbell: Racked up six pins in six matches to win the championship of the 114-pound division at the Steve Johnston Memorial Girls Invitational in Paducah on Jan. 13.

Najette Mojica-Soto, wrestling, West Creek: Placed first at 114 pounds at the Franklin Admiral Invitational on Jan. 13, helping the Coyotes claim the team championship. Posted a record of 6-1 for the week with six pins.

Yazmine Pearson, basketball, Kenwood: Scored 20 points in a 47-35 win at West Creek on Jan. 9.

Yolanda Rodriguez-Weaser, wrestling, Kirkwood: Won the 120-pound divison at the Ariel Rojas-Avila Memorial Tournament at Sycamore on Jan. 13 as the Cobras beat nine other teams for the title. Wrestled seven matches for the week and pinned her opponents in all of them.

Molly Scoville, wrestling, Clarksville Academy: Placed first in the 145-pound weight class at the St. Andrews Mountain Top Invitational in Sewanee on Jan. 13. Went 5-0 on the week with four pins.

Marley Spiers, basketball, Clarksville Christian: Averaged 7.7 points and 14.7 rebounds in the Centurions' three games on the week, racking up over 11 boards in each. Had five steals in a 64-29 win over South Haven Christian on Jan. 8.
