Welcome to the MyCentralJersey.com Readers’ Choice Baseball Player of the Week poll after Week 3.

Area teams include squads from the Greater Middlesex Conference, Somerset, Hunterdon and area Union counties.

Please note that the votes don't always show up immediately. There are lags for the votes to register and a winner isn't declared until hours after the poll closes.

BOBBY BRESSLER

Piscataway, Senior, Pitcher/second base

Bressler has made a triumphant return to the mound after not pitching last season with a UCL injury. Tuesday, the righthander threw a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and three walks against South River. The last Piscataway no-hitter was exactly 32 years earlier on April 16, 1992.

ETHAN BYRD, Watchung Hills, Junior, First baseman

Byrd went 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI and was the final putout of the 4-6-3 triple play Saturday in a 4-2 win over Hillsborough. Byrd also pitched a complete game five-inning mercy rule 14-1 win Thursday over Montgomery.

RYAN CIESLA, Somerville, Junior, Pitcher

Ciesla led the Pioneers to a 7-0-win Saturday night against Sayreville by pitching a complete game four-hit shutout. He struck out seven and walked one. The righty threw a complete game, two-hitter against Voorhees in a season opening 4-1 win.

JOHN DIGREGORIO, Gill St. Bernard’s, Senior, Catcher

The Purdue-commit went 3-for-3 with an RBI Wednesday in the Knights’ 3-2 win over Wallkill Valley. One of the hits was the 100th of his career.

EVAN HOECKELE, Bernards, Senior, Pitcher

The righty pitched a complete game mercy rule no-hitter Thursday in an 11-0 win at Voorhees. He struck out 10 and walked two. He also had an RBI and walked.

NICK KEE, Carteret, Junior, Pitcher/Second Base

Kee did a little bit of everything as Carteret went 3-0 in the week. He finished 8-for-11 and had seven RBIs with a home run, a double, a triple, three stolen bases and scored five runs. On the mound, he threw a one-hitter in a five-inning win over Timothy Christian, allowing an unearned run with eight strikeouts.

DOMINIC LONG, Middlesex, Freshman, Pitcher/Infield

Woodbridge has one of the area’s best offenses with 8 runs per game. The freshman righty looked impressive in stalling Woodbridge by going the distance and scattering nine hits and a walk with 10 strikeouts in a 4-3 win over the Barrons in his second varsity appearance.

JAKE MANNA, Dunellen, Senior, Pitcher/Infield

The Destroyers needed a win over Highland Park to get the split and stay tied for first in the GMC Silver Division and Manna delivered. He threw a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and a walk in the 6-1 win. At bat, he went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. For the week, Manna was 7-for-16 with six RBIs and seven runs.

DOM MASSARO, South Plainfield, Sophomore, Center field

Massaro had a great week in a game against North Brunswick. The sophomore blasted two home runs with nine RBIs on a 4-for-5 day in a key 27-6 GMC Red Division win. He also went 3-for-5 (RBI, run, double) in a win over Watchung Hills.

AIDEN STIEGLITZ, Ridge, Junior, Pitcher

Stieglitz followed up a solid six-inning effort in a 6-0 win against Somerville with a four-hit complete-game 3-1 win against Hillsborough last week. He struck out eight and didn’t allow a walk.
