Here are this week's nominees for The Arizona Republic's boys and girls athletes of the week, sponsored by Diamond Kitchen & Bath. Nominees are based on performances in AIA sanctioned sports for the previous week. Vote for the top selection in each of our polls below. Voting will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and winners will be announced the next day on azcentral.com and in The Arizona Republic on Friday. Boys nominees

Seth Crow, Chaparral swimming: At Oct. 14 tournament at ASU Aquatics Center, took first place in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, plus was part of two first-place relay events.

Blake Heffron, Chandler football: He completed 24 of 33 passes for 330 yards and six TDs in a 47-42 loss to Basha.

Joseph Nelson, Hamilton golf: Helped lead the Huskies to 1st place in the CUSD Invitational last Friday, shooting 5-under for the two-day tournament.

Girls nominees

Ariel Beltran, ALA Gilbert North swimming: Won the 100 Fly with a time of 56.11 and the 100 Backstroke with 57.03 at last Wednesday;s Charger Invite at McClintock High School. She is ranked No. 1 in D-III in the 200 IM, 100 Back, 100 FLy and 200 Free Relay.

Samiya Bodhankar,Hamilton badminton: She won the Division I individual state championship on Saturday as the No. 1 seed, defeating No. 2 Lekha Shrivastava of Desert Vista in sraight sets. Bodhankar, a senior, finished the regular season 21-0 in AIA singles and doubles matches combined

Kaitlyn Moreland, Pinnacle golf: Shot 4-under to help lead Pinnacle to win at last Wednesday's over Millennium and Sunnyslope.
